Emergency Fund for Ugandan LGBTQ Friends Seeking Escape: Talcott Broadhead, Danger Dot Publishing

I want to share this with you. On their website, my friend Talcott Broadhead of Danger Dot Publishing wrote:
This is no “Savior” effort. This is a response to the request of Ugandan LGBTQ communities to get.them.out. DangerDot is honored to provide 1 case of “Meet Polkadot,” as a beginning to this immediate relief effort.

At this moment DangerDot is working closely with the Olympia Friends (Quakers) to support 3 of our gay friends in Uganda. The brutality, imprisonment and deaths suffered by LGBTQ Ugandans is not merely a blip on your news feed– it is real. It is happening right now. Ugandan police and civilians are hunting down LGBTQ folks. It is on. We know of 3 murders just this week and those are just the murders that were public and undeniable. We know that many more of our brothers and sisters are imprisoned and have lost their lives because of their sexual and gender identity. Both real AND perceived.
and:
This is a moment to think seriously upon our collective commitment of “Never Again.”
and:
I know, and our friends in Uganda know, that creating an Underground transport to move them out of the country where they experience this oppression and violence is not the “answer” to fixing the broken system there.  However if we don’t move these friends now then we will be dealing with a recovery effort rather than a rescue effort.  We do what we have been asked to do.  We seek to use our privilege to create relief for those who are suffering.  This is no “Savior” effort.  This is a response to the request of Ugandan LGBTQ communities to get.them.out.  DangerDot is honored to provide 1 case of “Meet Polkadot,” as a beginning to this immediate relief effort.

As of Thursday morning, 4/10/14 DangerDot has raised $751.
The goal is to raise $1500.
